First-year National Diploma Music Technology students at York College were joined by guests from other music courses there to perform the iconic 1967 Beatles album, Sergeant Pepper’s Lonely Hearts Club Band.
About 35 students performed the music.
Rob Parker, music tutor at York College, said: “This album changed the way that people wrote and produced songs. It was a milestone in songwriting and studio production.
“The students were not too familiar with the music because, even for their parents, this album is old.
“Some students did know some of the songs, which has helped the rehearsal process, but nevertheless it has been a musical challenge for everyone. Putting this performance together has been a hugely enjoyable musical experience.”
