A FATHER from York who completed the London Marathon for the 11th time last month has raised £200 for a children’s charity.
David Chaplin, 42, from Haxby, who finished the 26-mile race in three hours and ten minutes, said: “I decided to run the marathon for the NSPCC because I’ve got young children myself and my wife is a social worker.” The money will go to the charity’s Child’s Voice Appeal, to boost NSPCC helplines, text and online counselling services.
Sarah Foster, NSPCC fundraiser, said: “We are so grateful to all of our London Marathon runners for their fantastic efforts in aid of the NSPCC. The money that they have raised really will mean that we can protect even more children and young people.”
