Hugh Bayley has won York Central for Labour with his fifth consecutive General Election victory in the city.
Mr Bayley polled 18,573 votes to fend off the challenge of his Conservative rival Susan Wade Weeks, who came second with 12,122 with Lib Dem Christian Vassie third on 11,694. Andy Chase of the Greens got 1,669, Jeff Kelly of the BNP got 1,171, Paul Abbott of UKIP got 1,100 and Eddie Vee of the Monster Raving Loony Party got 154.
