A RECORD entry of anglers signed up for the Sunday contest on Marley Lake at Laybourne Lakes.
Despite a bitterly cold wind, the 18 rods in the 36-field that weighed in put nearly 500lb of fish on the scales, with local rod Keith Schofield leading the way.
Caster fished tight to the far bank met with an indifferent response, but a switch after two hours to a shorter line saw his peg come to life, and at the whistle he had 66lb 4oz.
Vic Rookes took second with 52lb. His net was all-carp and fell to pole with pellet and meat.
Others: Neil Martin 47-0-0; Tony Stevenson 39-0-0; Bob Harrison 33-2-0.
Following victory in round six of the Bob-Co Spring League at Carpvale, Mick Addinall (Spectrum) made it back-to-back wins on his favoured floater attack.
After drawing peg one on Cyprio, he set about luring carp off the surface using a floating pole between 16 and 18 metres. Alternating floating pellets, dog biscuits and bread, he hauled in 18 carp to 6lb to take round seven with 75lb 4oz.
At the next peg, Steve Mazza (Yorkshire Bait) used pellet up in the water to take 20 carp. He had more fish, but a smaller stamp saw him finish 1lb short on 74lb 4oz.
Andy Barker (Bob-Co) took 56lb 8oz from peg three.
Others: Martin Dodsworth (Bob-Co) 56-4-0; Steve Sharples (Bob-Co) 53-6-0; Gary Miller (Green’s Fisheries) 46-10-0.

Addinall completed a great week with another win in the Thursday evening open on Poppleton Lakes.
The Railway Pond played host and Addinall bagged a level 79lb of carp to 6lb.
Dave Rollinson (Acomb Tackle) took second with a 60lb mixed net of carp and skimmers to nudge out Acomb Tackle team-mate Martin Reynolds, who had 57lb 6oz.
The Woodlands Winter League drew to a close on Saturday and, in a photo-finish, Dean Smith (Fox Match) and Dave Harris (Garbolino Elton) were tied on 13-points.
The title was decided on weight and York-based Smith had banked 461lb 8oz in the series. Harris had to settle for second with 372lb 6oz.
Victory in the 62-peg finale went to Luke Hawksworth, who posted the best weight of the series with 163lb 12oz. After starting on pellet up in the water at 15 metres, he switched to bomb and pellet for carp to 12lb.
Roger Holmes (Garbolino Gouch) topped the 46-entry at Langwith from peg 19 on Emma’s Lake.
Fishing pellet at 11 metres to combat a fierce wind, he bagged 71lb 5oz of carp to 3lb. Mal Bailey (Garbolino Elton) came up just short with 7lb 2oz.
Others: Kim Bell (Langwith) 70-4-0; Chris Watson (Ackworth) 58-4-0; John McFarland (Manchester) 57-13-0; Ben Fisk (Middy) 53-12-0.
It was a struggle for fish at Oaktree Leisure on Sunday, but that did not deter Gaz Pawlett (Oaktree Leisure).
He fished pellet and meat at ten metres from peg 20 for 42lb 4oz of carp to 5lb.
Others: Shaun Walker (Angel of the North) 35-4-0; Steve Hodson (RSPS) 33-12-0; Graham Millward (Oaktree Leisure) 29-8-0; Rab Ogilvy (Oaktree Leisure) 28-8-0; Kev Gilligan (Oaktree Leisure) 27-12-0.
