New and soon-to-be parents learned about helping their babies and the environment at a free event.
City of York Council’s Recycling team hosted a Nappochino to promote the use of real nappies at the Friends’ Meeting Housing in Friargate.
Real nappy experts were on hand to offer advice about the different types of real nappies and discuss the benefits of using them.
Research shows families can save about £500 by using real nappies as opposed to disposables.
They are said to be kinder to babies’ skin, as they are breathable and are free of the chemicals and gels found in disposable nappies They are also better for the environment – eight million disposable nappies are sent to landfill every day To find out more about real nappies phone 01904 551551 or email recyclingteam@york.gov.uk
