THIS York teenager has got his first taste of voting after his 18th birthday fell on the same day as Britain went to the polls.
As well as celebrating the milestone with his family, Guy Gilbert was able to play his part in the General Election battle by casting his vote for his favoured candidate in the York Outer seat yesterday.
The Archbishop Holgate's School pupil, who lives in Stockton-on-the-Forest, had his say in what has been tipped to be the closest election battle for many years at the local primary school.
He said: “I’m quite interested in politics and I'm glad I got the opportunity to vote because I think it’s important to do that if you have the chance.
“The campaign has been interesting, but there has been no one party which has particularly stood out for me.”
