SHEPHERD’S have started the John Smith’s Darts League summer season with two 10-0 wins.
In the first game, Heath Scaife (18, 109 c/o & 100 c/o) and Tony Cooper started in the whitewash of Cueball. Their second game saw Scaife (2 x 18 & 2 x bull c/o), John Mooring (19) and Rich Saville (16, 17) play well against Crescent ‘A’.
Defending champions Mitre had Rich Corner (122 c/o for 18 & 100 c/o for 17) and John Quantock (17) helping them to a 6-4 win in their opening game over Greyhound, whose Stu Limbert (180 for 17, 19) and Phil Brooke (17) played well.
Corner (17), John Quantock (180 for 15) and Chris Quantock (104 c/o for 18) ensured their second win 7-3 over Cueball.
Martyn Turner (17), Chris Thompson (17) and Adam Thompson (119 c/o) gave St Paul’s a 10-0 win over Crescent ‘B’ in their opening fixture and followed it with an 8-2 win over Acomb thanks to Adam Thompson (14), Turner (2 x 15) and Paul Cropper (180).
Flag and Severus top division two and remain unbeaten in their first three games.
In division three, newcomers Puss In Boots hold an early lead with three wins out of three.
