Students at York’s Mount School took part in the Prince’s Trust Scheme 500 and raised £2,100 for the charity. So many pupils were up for the challenge that the school put two groups in.

Budding entrepreneurs are tasked with thinking up an innovative business idea, making it a success in only 13 weeks and generating £500 from nothing.

The first Mount group, consisting largely of business studies students, ran a business selling customised sportswear.

They were met with challenges, but overcame them and went on to exceed their £500 target.

The second group had similar success, organising an auction of promises. Despite a jam-packed school calendar, the students successfully organised, promoted and delivered a fantastic evening. The Prince’s Trust is a leading youth charity which helps people aged 14 to 30.
