CUPCAKES, coffee and interiors consultations will be on the menu at a charity coffee morning in York.
Staff at York company Plaskitt & Plaskitt are holding the event to boost their Race For Life sponsorship efforts.
Claire Mullen and Lauren Hinley will be taking part in Race For Life at Pontefract on June 13, but decided to host a coffee morning as well to raise more cash for Cancer Research.
Women are invited to join them for the girls-only get-together at the Plaskitt & Plaskitt showroom, off Grimston Bar, on Saturday, May 22, from 11am to 2pm.
Entry is a suggested £2 donation and visitors can enjoy tea, coffee, cupcakes, live re-upholstery demonstrations, a vintage clothing exhibition, a photographic exhibition and a sneak preview of the company’s latest fabric collections.
Raffle prizes will include a room consultation with Plaskitt & Plaskitt; a £100 voucher against a fabric or wallpaper sale; a floral arrangement donated by florist Fiona Hogg and goodies from Field & Fawcett, which operates in the premises beneath the showroom.
All the proceeds from the entry fee and half of the raffle will be going to Cancer Research; the other half of the raffle proceeds will be going to the Alzheimer’s Society. Visitors can also sponsor Claire and Lauren for Race For Life.
Claire said: “Race For Life is a great event. Everyone is there for the same reason; everyone knows someone who has had cancer or lost someone to cancer or knows someone who is struggling with the illness. It is just a great atmosphere.”
