ARE our politicians living in the real world?

I have found it amazing to listen to our politicians describing the election as a massive vote for a coalition government.

Let’s look at the facts. In 2005, Labour won a handsome majority with 35 per cent of the vote, with Conservatives on 32 per cent and the Liberals on 22 per cent.

Here we are five years later with the Conservatives on 36 per cent, Labour on 29 per cent and the liberals on 23 per cent.

The Conservatives even have a million more votes than Labour had after their 2005 victory, yet the Labour Party went on to govern the country with no comment about the percentage of the vote or how the people don’t want one party to run the country.

The British people have been let down by our out-of-date voting system, and politicians who are power mad with no interest in what we think.

It time they all agreed to work together to get this country out of the mess they have got us into.
