A return to wintry conditions with overnight frosts and gale-force northerly wind hindered anglers as weights were down on the norm across the region.
Round eight of the Bob-Co Spring League at Carpvale saw pegs on the match lake dominate with smaller carp more willing to feed in the chilly conditions.
John Fletcher (Ripon) led home the 38-field from peg 42. Offering meat at 12 metres, he lured 16 carp for a total of 57lb 8oz.
Steve Mazza (Yorkshire Bait) pole fished pellet at ten metres to the aerator from peg 48 for 46lb 10oz of carp to 3lb.
Others: Dave Wright (Leeds Angling Centre) 45-0-0; Keith Appleton (York) 42-4-0; Martin Dodsworth (Ripon) 41-12-0; Paul Gallagher (The Willows) 39-0-0.
At Langwith, a good entry of 50 contested Anya’s, Emma’s and Kevin’s Lakes.
Sean Wagstaffe (Sonu Baits) led from peg ten on Anya’s where he pole fished pellet at 13 metres for a healthy 77lb 10oz of small carp.
Second was the consistent Julian Griffin (Hull DAA). He also fished the pellet tight to the island on Kevin’s 14 for an all-carp 67lb 13oz.

The Thursday Open at Poppleton Lakes saw the field tackle Horseshoe Lake in a three-hour sprint.
Steve Hodson (Acomb Tackle) led from peg 28 where he alternated meat and pellet at ten metres for an all-carp 40lb 12oz.
Martin Reynolds (Acomb Tackle) was on peg 26 where he stuck with meat, fishing a marginal swim and a ten-metre line, for his carp net of 37lb 6oz to see off Dave Rollinson (Acomb Tackle) with 32lb of carp.
The best local match weight of the weekend fell to Danny Scott (Bob-Co) at Raker Lakes where he took the latest round of the Bob-Co Spring Series with an excellent 118lb 13oz.
From peg 18, he fished meat at 18 metres onto the far shelf for a carp bag to 6lb.
