MALTON & Norton RUFC ace Poppy Scott is making ‘super’ progress.
The youngster has been representing Yorkshire in the Junior Super Cup in Shropshire against ten other regional teams, with the best players winning selection for a further training camp.
Four players from each region were invited to a weekend selection camp and two teams were selected from that group to play two challenge matches.
Her team won both of the games.
Having started playing rugby union only three years ago – she was the first to win the club’s Most Improved Player award in 2007 – she is now rated as one of the best young players in the country.
The Gannock club awarded her the Player of the Year trophy this season, although her Super Cup exploits caused her to miss the presentation night.
Tatyana Heard won the Players’ Player of the Year Trophy and Pheobe Fothergill was the Most Improved Player.
