MORE than 100 campaigners took to the streets of York in the second part of a two-day rally for a fairer political system.
Under the new coalition Government, Prime Minister David Cameron and his deputy, Nick Clegg, have pledged to reform the parliamentary voting system in the UK.
But campaigners at the Rally For Free Votes said the public needed to know more about the alternatives before being asked to vote on them.
York’s Labour MP Hugh Bayley addressed the rally on Saturday to pledge his support for voting system reform.
