ICILY cold weather in May? It certainly brings to mind the old saying “never cast a clout until May is out”.
On the North York Moors, it was 4C to 5C and, unbelievably, heavy sleet was pounding the car windscreen. Outside, the sky was filled with threatening looking pitch-black clouds you normally see in January.
I don’t know about you, but winter weather in May really frightens me. It’s not so much the numbing cold that bothers me, more the fact that our climate is changing at a dangerously rapid pace and time is not on our side.
