I AM researching my family history and would love to know where all the Brownless descendants are today.

My grandfather, John Brownless (born 1872, approx), was one of 11 children. Their father, Thomas, farmed at Dromonby, Kirby in Cleveland. A farm with 181 acres – if anyone can tell me which one that would be it would be wonderful.

He then moved to Field House Farm in Great Broughton, after his wife, Dorothy, died. He remarried and this seemed to split the family up – but where did they all go? I have tracked down a few of them, but not many.

My grandfather trained as a cabinet maker and wheelwright, doing his apprenticeship first at Thirsk, and going to Wintringham to learn the wheelmaking part. This is where he met my grandmother – Emma Harrison – where her father had a farm. Where are the Harrisons’ descendants now?

I’d love to hear from anyone with any info on any of the family, including stories from the past.
