INDEPENDENT-MINDED Lena Corny helped to organise her own 100th birthday party.
The former Rowntree worker celebrated in style with a tea party at the Red Lodge Care Home, New Earswick, whose acting deputy head, Jane Nicholson, described Mrs Corny as chatty, independent and popular with other residents.
