RUNNERS from Thirsk and Sowerby Harriers enjoyed a clean sweep of the main prizes at the difficult Ripon ten-mile race.
A total of 33 club members were among the 372 finishers in the multi-terrain race, which was the latest in the Club Championship series. Gary Dunn, won comfortably in 54 minutes 26 seconds, Andrew Halliday was second in 57-51 and Richard Hall came ninth in 60-56 to carry off the men’s team prize. Stephan Tomaszewski came 17th, second in the M50 category, in 63-26, with Cameron Choules 19th in 63-47.
Keziah Paxton, 17, had another superb run to win the women’s race, finishing 37th overall, in 68-29, almost four minutes ahead of the second-placed woman.
Dunn also finished fourth in the Sheffield half-marathon and won a bronze medal in the Yorkshire half-marathon Championships, which were part of the event.
Halliday, meanwhile, was sixth in the Dudley DK ten kilometre race in 34-14.
