A YORK academic will unveil how cannabis and carbon dioxide can help create a greener society today.

Professor Ray Marriott, senior researcher in the Green Chemistry Centre of Excellence at the University of York, will be giving the first in a new series of lectures on the environmental issues facing York. He will look at how the gas is critical to sustaining plant life and how plants from the cannabis family, which includes hemp and hops, are important sources for valuable molecules. The lecture at 7pm in the Department of Chemistry is the first of a series of five.
