What with all the many problems caused by the Icelandic volcanic activity and the stoppages in air travel, how on earth can cabin crews for BA even consider continuing with their destructive plans to go on strike?
Have they no consciences at all? Do they really feel that a few extra pounds in their pockets are worth all the misery, discomfort and inconvenience to so many air travellers?
I know a young man who works for another airline and that company is losing up to £1 million a day because of the volcanic dust. He and his fellow workers are sitting tight and hoping that their jobs are still there when all this is over.
Yet BA’s workers are doing their best to bring BA to its knees financially. How on earth that will ensure jobs at the end of the trouble they cause I cannot imagine – they should all be sacked and new workers found who appreciate the very real benefits of working for a company who, in the past, has offered extremely good pay and conditions. I have yet to speak to anybody who has an ounce of sympathy with what they are doing or feel they have any right to behave in this disgraceful manner.
