Dave Mason (17 & 180), Martyn Turner (18), Paul Botterill (135 bull c/o for 18), Chris Thompson (16) and Paul Cropper (20) helped them to a 7-3 win at last year’s champions Mitre, whose best players were Rich Corner (180 for 20 & 17), John Quantock (15, 18) and Pip Hair (110 c/o).
Shepherds stayed top after Heath Scaife (17), Tony Cooper (136 c/o) and Rich Saville (180 for 18) gave them a 6-4 win over Acomb, who had Mark Mason (16, 20), Keith Turner (18, 19) and Lee Brundrett (20) playing well.
Crescent ‘B’ gained their first win of the season, Iain Smith (20) and Danny Moore (20) securing a 6-4 win over Sun.
Crescent ‘A’ had Al Graham (19, 20) and Paul Keers (180 for 18) to thank in a 7-3 win at Cueball.
Severus stay unbeaten in division two, Gary Joy (20) and Dean Cairns (21) helping them to an 8-2 win over Flag.
Green Tree’s Mike Harrison (180) eased his team into a 5-0 lead at Derwent, who then woke up and took the remainder.
Puss, the previous division three leaders, suffered their first defeat going down 8-2 to Fox.
Acomb moved to the top with an 8-2 win over Derwent.
