THE first squares on the York Edition Monopoly board have been announced, and one of the locations is frightfully excited about it.
The York Dungeon will feature on the special edition board, although its exact location has not yet been confirmed.
Krissi Neal, from York Dungeon, said the attraction was proud to be involved.
She said: “The York Dungeon specialises in bringing York’s most horrible history back to life, so we are very proud to be on a prominent site on the Monopoly York board.”
As well as receiving a place on the board, the Dungeon has had input elsewhere in the game. Krissi said: “Players will need to watch out for the Dungeon’s very own customised Community Chest cards – there are worse things than not ‘Passing GO’ now the York Dungeon is involved.”
Makers Winning Moves also announced that The Press will take a very special square on the York Edition board. When the York Edition is released in November, The Press will be located on the Fleet Street slot, the historic home of British newspapers.
The announcement is the result of an appeal to York residents for suggestions of which York landmarks and institutions should replace the London squares.
