Kirkbymoorside Golf Club’s Jonny Moss captured the coveted York Rose Bowl.
The 19-year-old won what is one of Yorkshire’s premier 36-hole amateur competitions by two clear shots at York GC.
The event is the fourth on the Yorkshire Order of Merit and attracted 65 entrants.
After landing the impressive trophy Moss hailed the tuition he had received from Snainton Golf Centre’s Matthew Connor over the last two years.
Moss said: “He has helped me so much especially with his involvement in my practice planning.
“I am looking forward to the main part of the season after working hard in the winter and it’s going to be fun to see how I perform.”
Meanwhile, Mat Rowe, Eddie Hicks and Beth Acey were among the winners as Sandburn Hall got their junior campaign in the York Union off to a successful start against York GC.
