ST Leonard’s Hospice in York, which is currently marking its 25th year, will stage a thanksgiving service at York Minster next month.
The service is to be held on Sunday, June 6.
There will be a range of speakers, including palliative care experts the Baroness Finlay of Llandaff, who chairs the All-Party Parliamentary Group On Dying Well, and Dr Peter Kaye, a consultant at Cynthia Spencer House, in Northampton.
Rosemary Thompson, one of the hospice’s longest serving staff, will read the hospice prayer, which she helped to write when St Leonard’s was first set up.
Janet Morley, director of fundraising at St Leonard’s, said: “This thanksgiving service is one of the major events of our silver jubilee year, and we want to fill the nave of the Minster.”
The event begins at 2pm. Admission is free, but tickets are required. Phone 01904 777777 for more information.
