YORK trainer Hannah Ford and her family have raised £2,500 for breast cancer research during the Playtex Moonwalk.
Hannah’s original target was £1,000, but by the time the walk was over she had raised more than double that, thanks partly to a “Bear your Bra” night at The Corner Pin pub, in York’s Rougier Street, when people wore huge bras on the outside of their clothing.
Ticket sales from a gig at the Stone Roses Bar tonight, featuring local bands Tokyo Mafia and Shark Attack 3, will also go towards Hannah’s total.
Tickets for the event, starting at 7pm, cost £3 and are available on the door, or in advance from the bar in King Street, York.
