DO YOU know where any of these men are?
Police in York are asking for the public’s help to locate three men who are missing and wanted for a number of crimes. Two are on parole after being released partway through prison sentences for violent crimes.
Martin Cooke, 21, almost killed a man in Acomb when he was 15 after the victim spotted him raiding a garage with his mates. But he could not be named because he was under 18.
He was finally publicly named when he was 19 and took part in a vicious gang attack on a man near a railway bridge in Leeman Road, York. He was given a three-year prison sentence at York Crown Court in 2008 for the second assault and was released in October 2009. He is wanted for recall to prison for breaching the terms of his release licence.
Cooke is white, 5ft 8ins tall and of a medium build with dark brown hair. He is believed to be in the Chapelfields or Walmgate areas of York.
William Robert Leech, 30, is wanted for failure to comply with the terms of his release licence following his release from prison last December.
Leech was given a four-year prison sentence after he hit a 76-year-old woman during a raid on her home. He knocked the pensioner on to her bed before grabbing jewellery she was preparing to give to charity, the court heard at the time.
Leech is white, 6ft tall of medium build with black hair. It is thought he may be in the Harrogate area.
The third man, Errol Shaun Thackeray, 44, is wanted after he failed to answer bail in April for drugs related offences.
He is described as white, 6ft tall with a slim build and brown hair and is believed to be in the Selby area.
Anyone who knows the current whereabouts of any of the men is asked to phone Detective Inspector David Kirby on 0845 6060247.
