I fail to understand Pamela Frankland’s confusion (Letters, May 25) on where I stand as regards the Conservative/Lib Dem coalition.
My two letters merely pointed out the problems within this coalition and that, although I think it will fail, I hope for my country’s sake it succeeds, in the same way as Germany’s did.
As a firm right-winger, I dislike intensely what this coalition will almost certainly mean, ie several of the original Tory policies will either never see the light of day or be massively diluted, and many of the Liberal Democrat far-left policies will now become UK law.
I have no option but to accept that this coalition has been formed, but equally I have no liking of it.
