A SCARECROW festival is being held in York over the bank holiday weekend.
The event will take place along Scarcroft Road and Bishopthorpe Road.
More than 30 households have already signed up to make a green scarecrow from recycled materials.
Vicky Hearson, festival organiser, said: “We have enjoyed forming a green team and thought the scarecrow festival would be a fun way of raising awareness of climate change issues and encouraging our neighbours to do their bit for the planet.”
A trail of the Scarcroft scarec rows will be available from selected local shops in Bishopthorpe Road for £1. The proceedings will go towards funding new trees at the Butcher Terrace end of Rowntree Park.
