THE chairs and vice-chairs of the committees that keep an eye on the activities of City of York Council executive and regulatory committees have been chosen.
They were voted into their positions at the council’s annual meeting.
Coun John Galvin (Conservative) chairs the scrutiny management committee with Coun Dave Merrett (Labour) as vice chair.
The men and women in charge of the overview and scrutiny committees are as follows: Economic and city development: Coun David Scott (Labour) chair and Coun Ben Hudson (Conservative) vice chair.
Effective organisation overview and scrutiny committee: Coun Paul Healey (Conservative) chair, with Coun David Horton (Labour) as vice chair. Community safety: Coun Sandy Fraser (Labour) chair and Coun Ian Gillies (Conservative) vice chair.
Health: Coun Barbara Boyce, (Labour) chair and Coun Sian Wiseman (Conservative), vice chair. Learning and Culture: Coun Janet Looker (Labour) chair and Coun Jenny Brooks (Conservative), vice chair. The traffic congestion ad-hoc scrutiny committee: Coun Tracey Simpson-Laing (Labour) and Coun Ben Hudson (Conservative) vice chair.
