The Tadcaster-based Riley Smith Theatre Group is under starter’s orders for its next production.
Ladies’ Day, by Amanda Whittington, is the story of when Royal Ascot came to York in 2005.
Produced by Jean Tomlinson, the group is busy in rehearsal and having fun getting into character.
“This play is absolutely hilarious,” said Chris Day, who plays the dual roles of Jim the TV Pundit and Barry.
“Every line is funny and the script gets funnier every time we go through it.” Ladies’ Day will be staged at the Riley-Smith Hall, Tadcaster, on Saturday and Sunday, June 19 and 20, at 7.30pm. Tickets are priced at £8 and £6 for concessions and are available by phoning 01937 834181, or on the door.
