MOTORISTS and residents face a month of road closures on a major route in and out of York.
City of York Council workers will start resurfacing Haxby Road and Haley’s Terrace on Tuesday.
From Tuesday until June 11, Haxby Road will be closed between Greenfields and Haley’s Terrace. Between June 14 and June 18, Haley’s Terrace will be closed to traffic entering from Haxby Road, but open to traffic entering from Huntington Road and Fossway. There will be no access to Yearsley Baths or the Nestle car ark from Haley’s Terrace and an alternative access will be arranged from Haxby Road. Temporary traffic lights will be installed at the Haxby Road – Haley’s Terrace roundabout.
From June 21 to June 25, Haley’s Terrace will be closed in the opposite direction, with traffic allowed to enter from Haxby Road, but not from Huntington Road and Fossway. Throughout the period, onstreet parking will be banned in Haley’s Terrace and pedestrians will be able to use the road.
