To say my flabber was well and truly gasted would be the understatement of the year, when I read the highly critical letter from Dee Quinn (Human rights, May 27) responding to my letter of May 24.
I would imagine she is a trainee politician, judging by the skilful way she twisted my letter round.
Luckily I still have The Press in which my letter appeared and, no matter how I read/re-read it, I cannot find any reference to British soldiers in Afghanistan, or anywhere else for that matter, or their being covered by the Human Rights Act.
Perhaps Mrs/Miss/Ms Quinn could explain how she arrived at her quite extraordinary analysis of my letter?
I suppose there is the possibility she has twisted my scathing reference to the al Qaeda terrorists into saying British soldiers, in Afghanistan, are of the same ilk.
Mrs/Miss/Ms Quinn finishes her letter: “Shame on you Philip Roe”.
Well, Dee Quinn, if you have twisted my critique of the al Qaeda terrorists, the way it appears you have, all I can say is “et tu Brute”!
Philip Roe, Roman Avenue South, Stamford Bridge, East Yorkshire.
