YORK golfer Simon Dyson was derailed by a triple-bogey seven at the 15th hole of his third round at the Madrid Masters.

Dyson was seemingly heading for a place in the top ten after being nine-under-par for the tournament with four third round holes to play.

Despite that blip, the 32-year-old recovered his composure to birdie the 17th and par the 18th for a round of 70 to add to his opening rounds of 70 and 69.

He heads into Sunday's final round in a tie for 17th place on seven-under, nine shots off joint leaders Rhys Davies and Luke Donald.
