THE Hunters York & District Senior Cricket League Joe Lumb XI bagged their second win in two matches as they beat Huddersfield by four wickets with four overs to spare at Stamford Bridge.
The York under-17s restricted Huddersfield to 164-9 from their 50 overs. Huddersfield lost an early wicket but recovered to reach 56-1 before Ryan McKendry took 2-33 in 11 overs and Andrew Simpson claimed 4-36 in 11 overs.
York’s reply started slowly against some tight bowling, until skipper Chris Bilton (47), Tom Collins (34), and Ben England (35no, including three sixes) saw York home.
York’s next match is against Nidderdale, at Knaresborough, on Sunday. Meet noon, start 1pm.
