WITH regard to student accommodation at Osbaldwick, I wrote last year about the dreadful state of property and gardens, especially on the Hull Road.
Planners must ensure landlords see the properties are kept in decent condition.
It is unfair on local residents to have to live next door to neglected houses and gardens.
These students are tomorrow’s parents. Where is their pride and consideration to one’s fellow man?
Some student “lets” are well cared for, so one assumes the landlords require them to keep the property as it is found.
It must be costly to “clean-up” when the occupants move on.
I appeal to all concerned to make some rules and see they are kept for the sake of the neighbours.
