I WISH to raise public awareness of incidents of dangerous driving on the Monks Cross link road, particularly around the roundabout to the retail park.
Recently, I was travelling towards Monks Cross when I encountered another driver cutting across the roundabout travelling in the wrong direction in what seemed to be some sort of game on the part of the driver. I narrowly avoided colliding head on.
The incident left me shaken and incensed at the arrogance of the other driver. It is my hope that the issue can be addressed rather than swept under the carpet.
I believe it is in the public interest that motorists are made aware of this – if only so that they can be vigilant for their own sake.
Driving irresponsibly is to play with other people’s lives, and by no stretch of the imagination can that be socially acceptable.
