ARTWORK by pupils at Terrington Hall School won high praise from artist Shelley Hughes when she judged the school’s annual art exhibition.
Miss Hughes, who holds an MA in fine art from the Institute for Contemporary Arts at Lancaster University, spent a morning at the school studying the works on display, and made her selection for the winning fine art and batik entries.
All the children from Year Three to Year Eight submitted exhibits, which included water colours, pencil drawings, pastels, charcoals and batiks.
On presenting the awards, Miss Hughes said: ‘In my experience of working in many schools across the region, I have to say there is an impressively high standard of work here. The vibrancy, individuality of style and close attention to detail are remarkable.’
