TEN gardens in Riccall are opening their gardens to visitors to raise funds for St Leonard’s Hospice in York on June 13.
One of the gardens will be “a testament to recycling”, while there will be a life-size Dalek hiding among the greenery in another.
There will be plants, magazines and books on sale in some of the gardens, and the Greyhound and the Hare & Hounds pubs in the village will be open for Sunday lunch and drinks. The local allotments will also be open for inspection.
The event is being organised by the St Leonard’s Hospice Riccall Support Group. A programme giving entrance to all the gardens costs £2. They are available on the day at any of the gardens or on the village green. Accompanied children under 14 go free and the gardens are open from 1 pm to 5pm.
