SIX thousand bottles of water were handed to police by supermarket giant Morrisons at the launch of a new summer anti-binge drinking campaign.
Last night marked the launch of Operation Style, a campaign led by the Safer York Partnership in conjunction with North Yorkshire Police, North Yorkshire Fire & Rescue Service and City of York Council.
The initiative is aimed at making sure revellers enjoy warm weather, the World Cup and race meetings without falling foul of binge drinking and causing anti-social behaviour.
