POLICE have made a renewed appeal for help from the public to help trace a missing York postal worker.
Steven Gaffney, 39, was last seen by his friends at the Tiger pub, in Haxby, at about 2.30pm on Monday.
The Royal Mail employee, who works at the Leeman Road sorting office, in York, last made contact with a friend in the early hours of Tuesday. He has not spoken to friends or family since.
He was reported missing by his family when he failed to turn up for work on Tuesday. Mr Gaffney, from Acomb, is described as white, about 5ft 7ins tall with a slim build and short brown hair which is cropped, but spiked up in the middle. He has a brown beard and wears glasses.
It is thought that he may be wearing blue jeans, a grey zip-up hooded top and a t-shirt bearing the slogan “Anyone but England for South Africa 2010”.
Anyone with information that could help the investigation is urged to phone PC Sam Bolland, of York Police, on 0845 6060247. Ctimestopper can also be phoned anonymously on 0800 555 111.
