GREEN-FINGERED residents living in a York neighbourhood have the chance to put forward their garden for a floral award.
Entries are now open for the second annual Fishergate in Bloom contest, which is organised by Green Party councillors Dave Taylor and Andy D’Agorne.
Coun Taylor said: “This competition shows what gardeners can do, not just with edible crops, but in beautiful and creative floral displays as well.
“Like last year, we’ll have prizes for best suburban garden, best terraced street and best hanging basket/ window box.”
To enter a garden in the competition, phone Coun D’Agorne on 01904 633526 or Coun Taylor on 01904 658443. Judging will take place on Yorkshire Day.
