On Monday I was fortunate to attend a short screening at the City Screen of a film made by young people in the city. Considering the youth of today often get a bad press in the media, I thought it only right to highlight the great work of two groups of young people who have been working together to create a fabulous film all about the environment and climate change.

CIN (Children In Need, a York Young People’s Service Group, based at the City Screen) and Ready Or Not, a group giving young people in York the tools and platforms to express their views on the current climate crisis, have shown great skill and professionalism in producing a short DVD and accompanying material aimed at young people. Now that’s what I call a coalition.

The film, Betraying Our World, highlights the effects of climate change in York and what positive changes young people can make to change their world for the better. Young minds with fresh and positive ideas, a shining example of youth in our city, something many of us could take on board!
