TWO City of York Athletic Club veteran athletes, Colin Shafto and Fiona Crompton, won medals at the British Masters Track and Field Championships held at Cardiff’s International Sports Stadium.
Shafto continued his record- breaking season with two gold and one silver medal – setting two new British records along the way.
The former World Masters hurdles champion, competing in the M75 age group, won his first event, the 80-metre hurdles, in 15.80 seconds, a new UK record.
After picking up a slight calf injury in the long jump where he finished second, the York athlete returned the following day to clear a winning height of 1.31m in the high jump, improving his own UK record by a centimetre.
Fiona Crompton won a silver medal in the weight, and bronze medals in the javelin and hammer.
