YORK thai boxing warrior Rich Cadden is on the winning trail again.

The Chok Dee Gym fighter knocked out Cork-based Darren Cashman in the fourth round of their bout at Leeds Town Hall last week in his second fight back following a hiatus from the sport.

Cadden, a former world champion, is next due to fight Scot Lloyd Cochrane in Glasgow on August 28.

On his victory, Cadden said: “He came out in the first round and landed a few low kicks and we also had a bit of a clash of heads – but he was very sporting.

“He had fire in his belly in the second round, but I started to dominate in the clinch.

“I was working the low kick all the time and half way through the fourth round I feinted to throw the low kick and planted it instead across his neck and knocked him out.

“I am fighting Cochrane at a slightly higher weight and he has had a lot of big fights against some of the bigger names at 67kg.

“He has never been knocked out and has a granite jaw.

“But I am coming off two wins and two knockouts and I am planning on doing the same again.”

For those interested in learning more about thai boxing, Cadden teaches three times a week at his Chok Dee Gym based at Fitness First, Clifton Moor.

Sessions are held on Tuesdays between 7pm and 8.15pm, Thursdays from 7.30pm to 8.30pm and Sundays between 5.30pm and 7pm, and cost £5. For more information, phone Cadden on 07887 812139.
