PUPILS in York received a road and railway safety lesson from police to highlight the dangers of level crossings.
British Transport Police and Network Rail visited Manor CE School, where children from Poppleton Ousebank were visiting.
Sgt Matt Popple said: “Many of the children from Poppleton Ousebank will be moving to Manor School within the next few months, so this was the perfect opportunity to inform young children from the area of the dangers level crossings pose if they are not used correctly.
“With everything that comes with moving into a new school and environment, often things like road safety are forgotten.
“We shall continue to spread the message of safety throughout the year with sessions at Manor School.”
