ISAAC GREEN has secured Yorkshire rugby union honours.
The Year 12 pupil who plays scrum-half for Pocklington School’s first XV, has been selected to turn out for the Yorkshire Under-18 squad next season.
Ten members of the new U18 squad have previously played for England in different age groups.
The U18s season will start with a tour to Ireland in August to play against Ulster Schools and Clubs at Campbell College, Belfast. This will be followed by a warm-up match against Leinster Clubs in Yorkshire before taking on Lancashire, Cheshire and Northumberland in September and October. The final three matches will be observed by both North of England and England selectors who will be scouting for new talent for both the North of England and England squads.
Sean Houltham, rugby master at Pocklington School, said: “This is a fantastic individual achievement, as the squad is made up of only 30 players selected from all the schools and clubs in Yorkshire.
“We wish him all the best and will be taking a close interest in his progress.”
