SHERIFF Hutton Bridge secured the Zone ‘B’ championship in the York & District Junior Cricket Association Hirepoint Plant & Tool Hire Under-13s League with a win over Clifton Alliance.
Their innings of 180 includes 30s from Matty Fisher, Oliver Leedham, E Cotter and A Robinson. Himsworth’s 21 wasn’t enough as T Bullough (3-15) saw Alliance all out for 60.
A knock of 30 from Tom Matthews helped Acomb to victory over Ovington ‘A’.
Ovington’s Matt Chilton took 2-11 and Harry Buckley 2-11 to restrict Acomb to 99-9 in the Zone ‘B’ game. However, Ovington could only reach 60-9 in reply, with George Dodd taking 2-7 and Liam Spendlow 2-9.
Heworth’s Tom Neal (30) and Matty Fairburn (28) helped their side to 81-8 against York ‘A’, whose Stu Tolley took 6-3.
Harry Richardson (33) and Cameron Lynde (29) saw York home by eight wickets.
Malton batted well to make 87-2 against Osbaldwick ‘A’, with S Harland top-scoring on 31, but Osso won by five wickets.
York ‘B’ improved their chances of a runner-up spot in Zone ‘A’ by scoring 125-4 against Bishopthorpe and then bowling out their opponents for 79.
The bowlers were on top at Bolton Percy as the home side struggled to 62-9 against Ovington ‘B’. Dan Clough (2-3) and Tom Marshall (2-3) then took over and Ovington were all out for 34.
J Knowles (31) top-scored as Yapham reached 88-7 against Cawood, who were bowled out for 36 with J Hardwick taking 3-2.
Dunnington (128-5) boasted runs from J Spofforth (31), F Littlewood (27) and T Ainsley (24) as they beat Pocklington (76-6).
A quick-fire 32 from M Proctor was the main contribution to Thixendale’s 122-5 against Stamford Bridge, who fell 51 short at 71-6.
Selby ‘B’ could only manage 72-8 against Woodhouse Grange’s F Collins (2-11) and M Gillbank (2-7). A knock of 30 from Shipley and 23 from Allport gave Woodhouse Grange a seven-wicket victory.
Londesborough Park struggled to 86-4 with Nathan Saltmer hitting 25 and Will Stephenson making 24 against Osbaldwick ‘B’, who closed on 48-9.
Meanwhile, York ‘B’ and Sheriff Hutton Bridge have qualified for the Under-13s Six-a-side Competition finals from the first preliminary group stage held at Sheriff Hutton Bridge.
