THE Haxby Carnival has enjoyed one of its biggest attendances ever thanks to the warm weather and a huge range of games, events and stalls.
The fun began with the arrival of the carnival queen’s procession to the Ethel Ward Playing Field.
Richard Watson, City of York councillor and Haxby resident, said: “It was a very well attended event – we had some glorious weather.
“In terms of numbers, it was difficult to tell, but I would have thought it was one of the best attended.
“People were very, very pleased with what was there.”
This year’s carnival included an X-Factor-style talent contest, a fair, go-karts and a birds of prey display.
