SAINSBURY’S will open the doors of its newly expanded supermarket in Monks Cross, York, tomorrow.
Sixty-five extra staff have been taken on at the 70,000sq ft Jockey Lane store.
It will be opened by a representative of SNAPPY, the charity working with children with special needs in York which for the past year has been the store’s local charity partner, benefiting by £3,000 from fundraising events.
The expanded store includes a bureau de change, a photo lab, a mezzanine café and pizza bar, extended homeware stock and a complete range of TU clothing.
The extra room also means products not available in the store can be ordered online and collected there.
