WHILE walking through the Museum Gardens on a sunny Sunday afternoon en-route to the River Ouse to see the Dragon Boat Races, I have not seen the gardens looking better.
The Dragon Boat Races were a spectacle of colour, noise, everyone trying their hardest, thousands of spectators, residents and tourists alike.
Hang on a minute, there’s something amiss.
I don’t remember the riverbanks like this, – cobbles no longer visible, covered in gunk and river silt, weeds a foot or more high. It’s a complete mess; what a shame.
If this was graffiti it would have been cleared up long ago.
York Pride? I don’t think so.
