THE sales director of a telephone company has been called upon by York’s St Leonard’s Hospice to compete in the Jane Tomlinson York 10km Run.
Mark Mills will be part of St Leonard’s 25-strong team taking part in the race to celebrate the hospice’s 25th anniversary.
The 42-year-old, of the Local Telephone Service (LTS) at Clifton Moor, is responsible for maintaining the hospice’s telephone system.
Mark said: “Whenever I’ve visited the hospice I’ve been very impressed with the service it offers its patients. As I’ve run many 10km and half-marathon races, I jumped at the chance to run for hospice funds.”
Helen Moreton, of St Leonard’s Hospice fundraising team, said: “LTS has been looking after our telephone system for some time and we are delighted that Mark has joined Team St Leonard’s.”
